ACADEMY BOY (2024) SHORT FILM

In 2024, Luke and a small crew filmed and released a short film based on a pivotal scene from Academy Boy.

It serves as a gut punch proof of vision, an example of Luke’s sensitive directorial touch and a tension filled teaser - on only a self funded budget.

The film managed to win multiple awards internationally and premiered at BAFTA Qualifying Festival British Urban Film Festival. It distills the major themes of Academy Boy in under 20 minutes. Set over one evening - Theo attends a pivotal trial where Jian faces the true nature of Academy.
